The set-up
27 August 2005A really nice movie about a boxer’s declining career starring Robert Ryan. One of the first movies where the movie time was near-identical to the actual time. I really liked the portrayal of the boxers and the spectators.

CSA: Confederate States of America
27 August 2005An entertaining “mock” documentary based on “what if” the south had won the civil war. I thought it was a bit slow in parts and educating and funny in parts. I didn’t know that “Aunt Jemima” and “Uncle Ben’s” are remnant brand names from slavery days! According to Wikipedia, an early advertisement of aunt Jemima contained the following copy:
On the old plantation, Aunt Jemima refused to reveal to a soul the secret of those light fragrant pancakes which she baked for her master and his guests. Only once, long after her master’s death did Aunt Jemima reveal her recipe. It’s still a secret.
