This happens even if you have latest video drivers and you have all the latest update? Tried rebooting and still get the green screen?

Then, heres how you can get rid of it.

  1. Click on Start->Run and type dxdiag (DirectX diagnostic tool).
  2. Click on the Display tab and then DISABLE DirectDraw Acceleration.

If it still doesn’t work, then you might have to change your firewall settings (disabling http proxy seems to work).

Here is my breakdown (yes working on your thesis makes you spend time on such silly things), and I was surprised to see that I’ve only watched 301 out of the 1000 movies, but frankly most of them don’t seem to be any good. For example, Ace ventura is one of the 1000 movies!

Out of work and in need of cash, two former lawmen (Joel McCrea and Randolph Scott) agree to accompany a shipment of gold from the Sierras to a faraway town. But while one of the friends wants to take the money and run, the other intends to finish the assignment, resulting in some serious on-the-job friction. In addition to capturing Scott’s final film role, this classic Western drama also helped cement director Sam Peckinpah’s fledgling career.

Its a pity that Peckinpah couldn’t get to make more movies like this one.

Abandoned in the desert, prospector Cable Hogue survives his ordeal when he discovers a freshwater spring. Transforming the oasis into a much needed pit stop on the local stagecoach route, the resourceful Hogue sits back to wait for his double-crossing former partners. Jason Robards shines in the title role of this lighthearted Western, a film characterized more by picaresque comedy than by director Sam Peckinpah’s signature violence.

John Wayne and Jeffrey Hunter spend years searching for Wayne’s niece (Natalie Wood), who was abducted as a child by Comanches. Far from a picaresque adventure yarn, The Searchers is director John Ford’s forceful meditation on racism, revenge and obsession — one of the most powerful ever filmed. And Wayne’s portrayal of a brutishly obsessed “savior” is downright frightening.
